Welcome to Storybranch. These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your use of storybranch.world (the "Site"), operated by SideQuest LLC, a Nevada limited liability company ("Storybranch," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Who may use the Site
The Site is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use the Site or make a purchase. Storybranch books are made for children ages 3–8, but the customer relationship — the account, the subscription, and any purchase — is with you, the adult.
2. Our store
Storybranch books and subscriptions are sold through our store at shop.storybranch.world, which runs on Shopify with subscriptions managed by Appstle. Purchases are governed by the terms of sale presented at checkout, together with these Terms. Subscriptions can be paused, skipped, or cancelled from your account at any time. Prices and offerings may change. Buttons on this Site such as "Start the series" take you to that store's checkout.
3. Our content and trademarks
The Site and everything on it — text, stories, illustrations, graphics, logos, the Storybranch name and branch mark, the seven-skill framework as expressed here, and the design of our books and materials — are owned by SideQuest LLC or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We're glad for you to browse, share links, and print pages for personal use. You may not copy, republish, sell, or create derivative works from our content without our written permission.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Site. Among other things, you will not: attempt to access data or systems you are not authorized to access (including other people's information); submit false information or sign up on someone else's behalf without their consent; scrape, harvest, or bulk-collect content or data; interfere with the Site's operation; or use the Site for anything unlawful.
5. Educational content, not professional advice
Storybranch content — including our books, parent guides, and the research summaries on this Site — is educational and informational. It is not medical, psychological, or professional advice, and it is not a diagnostic tool or treatment for any condition. The peer-reviewed research we cite supports the skills our books target; it is not a claim of clinical outcomes from Storybranch products. For concerns about your child's development, consult a qualified professional.
6. Third-party services and links
The Site links to and relies on third-party services — for example, Google for sign-in and academic publishers for cited research. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, which govern your use of them. We are not responsible for third-party sites or services.
7. Disclaimers
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SideQuest LLC and its members, officers, and employees will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100) or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SideQuest LLC from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Site.
10. Changes to the Site and these Terms
We may change the Site — and these Terms — at any time. Updated Terms will be posted here with a new effective date, and material changes will be noted to customers by email. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Site for violations of these Terms. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time via the link in any email or by emailing us.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Site will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Clark County, Nevada, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
