Privacy Policy

Storybranch is a product of SideQuest LLC, a Nevada limited liability company ("Storybranch," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through storybranch.world (the "Site"), how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Orders and subscriptions. Storybranch books are sold through our store at shop.storybranch.world, which runs on Shopify, with subscriptions managed by Appstle. When you place an order, Shopify and its payment processors collect your order details, shipping name and address, and payment information under their own privacy policies; we receive the order and contact details needed to print, ship, and support your purchase.
- Correspondence. If you email us, we keep the correspondence and the address you wrote from.
Information collected automatically
This marketing Site sets no sign-in or account cookies of its own; our store at shop.storybranch.world uses the cookies Shopify needs for carts and checkout to function. We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies or uses similar technologies to collect information about how visitors use the Site and our store — such as pages viewed, buttons clicked, approximate location, device and browser type, and referring pages. Google processes this data on our behalf under its own policies. You can limit it through your browser's cookie controls or with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Payment information
Payment card details are collected and processed by Shopify's payment processors, not stored by us.
2. How we use information
- To provide the subscription and fulfill orders — including printing, shipping, and customer support.
- To send you news and marketing email about Storybranch. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is always free and immediate.
- To advertise Storybranch, including by creating "custom audiences" on advertising platforms (see Section 3).
- To understand and improve the Site.
- To comply with law, enforce our Terms of Use, and protect our rights, users, and the public.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we never will. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers. Companies that process data on our behalf so the Site can work: Shopify and Appstle (our store, checkout, and subscription management), the payment processors behind Shopify checkout, Gelato (printing and shipping our books), and email service providers we use to send updates. These providers may use your information only to provide services to us.
- Advertising platforms. We may upload customer email addresses, in hashed form, to advertising platforms such as Meta (Facebook/Instagram) or Google to show Storybranch ads to our subscribers and to similar audiences. Under some state laws this may be considered "sharing" for advertising purposes; you can opt out — see Your Privacy Choices.
- Legal reasons. If required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Storybranch, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If Storybranch or SideQuest LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
4. Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from marketing email at any time via the link in any email or by writing to us.
- Access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing mike@sidequestapp.com. We will respond to verified requests within the time required by applicable law.

5. Data retention and security
We keep personal information until you ask us to delete it or until it is no longer needed for the purposes above (order records may be kept as long as tax and accounting law requires). No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we use reputable providers and least-access practices to protect your information.
6. Children's privacy
Our books are made for children, but our Site and store are for adults. The Site is intended for visitors 18 and older, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at mike@sidequestapp.com and we will delete it.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Storybranch grows. We will post the updated policy here with a new effective date, and for material changes we will notify customers by email.
